It's already August?!
Yes - that's right - August is here, and with it comes all of the usual "end-of-summer" stressors that we're used to, in addition to EVERYTHING ELSE that is currently going on in the world! Oy! That being said, we're glad to have seen so many people coming into the gym, old and new, getting in "the best hour of their day". During these difficult times, it's even more important to keep up with good health practices: eating well, sleeping well, and exercising multiple days a week will keep you going through this hell of a year! Thank you all for your commitment, and if there's anything more we can do, let us know!

CrossFit Inc. Has A New Owner and CEO (Update)
On July 24, Eric Roza announced on Twitter that he and Greg Glassman signed a legally binding agreement to finalize a deal to purchase 100% of CrossFit, Inc. from its founder Greg Glassman.
Why it matters: The penultimate hurdle follows the letter of intent accepted by Glassman back in late June. The deal now signed by both parties is legally binding which means neither party can back out. Roza is only waiting on a pro forma government clearance from the Federal Trade Commission and Department of Justice which could take a few more weeks. Afterward, the money would be transferred and the sale complete.
The details:
Roza’s not alone in his ownership of CrossFit. Berkshire Partners, a Boston-based private equity firm with more than $16 billion in private equity investments is also behind the deal.
One percent of the stock will be set aside in a non-voting trust for Maggie Glassman and their kids.
The final hurdle of the deal is government approval from the FTC/DOJ, which is expected in the next couple of weeks.

Spicy Shrimp Tacos with Garlic Cilantro Slaw
One of those people who hate cilantro? Too bad - this recipe is spot on when it comes to big flavors in a small package! Bonus: It's easy and it leaves few leftovers! (Thanks to Ruby for this one)
Ingredients
Garlic Cilantro Lime Sauce
1/4 cup oil
1/4 cup water
1/2 cup chopped green onions
1/2 cup cilantro leaves
2 cloves garlic
1/2 teaspoon salt
juice of 2 limes
1/2 cup sour cream or full-fat Greek yogurt
Shrimp Taco Spice Mix
2 teaspoons each chili powder and cumin
1/2 teaspoon each onion powder and garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (more or less to taste)
1 teaspoon coarse sea salt
Stuff for the Shrimp Tacos
1 lb. shrimp, peeled and deveined, tails removed
2–3 cups shredded green cabbage
8 small tortillas (corn or flour)
avocados, Cotija cheese, and lime wedges for serving
Method
Sauce: Pulse all the sauce ingredients in a food processor or blender until mostly smooth.
Slaw: Toss some of the sauce (not all) with the cabbage. We’ll use the leftover sauce to top the tacos.
Shrimp: Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels. Toss the shrimp in a small bowl with the spice mix to get it coated. Heat a drizzle of oil a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp to the hot pan and sauté for 5-8 minutes, flipping occasionally, until the shrimp are cooked through.
Assembly: For the prettiest and easiest-to-eat assembly, go in this order: smashed avocado, slaw, and shrimp. Finish with Cotjia cheese, lime wedges, and extra sauce.
Enjoy!
